ABOUT IRINI
Irini is a multi-lingual international artist. Originally from Greece, grown via Brussels and now based in London, Irini's far-reaching sound encompasses a deep rooting in Jazz, folk traditions from Latin America to Greece. Her informed vocal prowess of each of these traditions has led her to record and perform internationally, including an appearance as special guest vocalist for Kenny Wheeler's "Sweet Sister Suite" recorded for the first time with the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra.

Her own music brings each of these influences into a modern soundscape, combining with the likes of Nai Palm, Erykah Badu and Joni Mitchell. Her highly emotive songs speak of her uniquely multicultural upbringing and gives Irini a chance to explore live her love for guitar and piano also.

TEACHING
Irini's musical journey combines jazz, classical & world music. Having studied classical piano since the age of 7, she later moved on to study Jazz Vocals at Athenaeum Conservatory in Athens, while performing at major events such as TedX and Greek National Radio (ERT). She then moved to Glasgow, attending the Royal Conservatory of Scotland and then continued her Master studies in Jazz Vocals at Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London.

Irini's uniquely multi-lingual and multi-cultural background (speaking Greek, French, English & Spanish fluently) allows her to be particularly adaptive and engaging for both kids (sometimes starting as young as 4) and adults in both 1-to-1 and group settings. Her teaching style includes technique, repertoire, improvisation and Kodaly method.

Past & present experience includes Camden Music Service, Ears for Music, Crescendo School of Music & Arts, Alma Music.
